Chris Cakes STL History
A brief history on the best catering company this side of the moon.
Chris Cakes started out in 1969 by a fairly well respected and sometimes funny Loren Christiansen in the small town of Pocahontas, Iowa. A scrappy young engineer by the name of Steve Hamilton picked up the spatula and took it to the fine town of Louisburg, Kansas, just a couple good flips south of Kansas City in 1984. From there he made such a name for himself flipping pancakes and entertaining crowds he drew the attention of Paul Werkowitch who went to work for Steve so long ago nobody can really remember. In 2004 Paul decided to start the company here in the wonderful city of St. Louis, Missouri.
After lots of flipping, a lot of driving and a whole lot of time Chris Cakes STL was born on the banks of the Meramec River in Fenton, Missouri. We figured if we use the best products available, the fastest serve times in the land and a fantastic sense of humor people might be willing to hire us and hire us they did. Chris Cakes STL is responsible for making somewhere North of 1 million pancakes per year and has had to double their warehouse size every two years just to keep up with the demands of our insatiable customers.
We have added twenty four hour availability for groups that get a craving at 2am. We've also added Emergency Catering to help our emergency response teams and utilities when a large storm comes or a catastrophe happens.
Chris Cakes has become a part of St. Louis tradition and will continue to strive to provide the best service, most entertainment and best food until we become the best catering company on both sides of the moon.
